Hey, there! I’m Jake. Glad you’re here!
So, a little about me… Well I’ve always loved weddings! As a kid growing up in the ‘90s, I attended so many weddings since my mom has roughly 60 first cousins (yeah—BIG Catholic family on her side!) who are mostly all women. Whenever there was a wedding, I was so excited to see the bride’s dress and her bouquet. I would always be completely in awe and enveloped in the energy and love that surrounded the day. When I wasn’t at weddings, I could be found sketching brides and wedding dresses on any and all pieces of paper. My beloved grandma, Mimi, always said I was going to be a dress designer. And one of my most prized possessions as a kid was a Troll doll that was a bride. How dorky!
Well I didn’t become a dress designer, but I am a wedding photographer! What I love to specialize in is editorializing a couple’s day. Obviously I love to tell the whole day’s story through a photojournalistic approach to my photography, but my goal is to capture amazing, timeless, and seemingly effortless images of couples in love. And yes, I still look forward to every wedding when I get to see the bride in her dress.
When I’m not photographing a wedding, I am a busy body, chronic extrovert, and total Millennial. I work closely with a fashion photographer and clothing designer as a creative director and stylist. I love doing this on the side because it helps me understand how clothes work on the body and how I can better direct and pose couples on their wedding day…and it’s yet another great creative outlet! Other than that, I’m usually volunteering as a committee member for the Joslyn Art Museum’s Young Art Patrons, catching the latest showing at Film Streams, or enjoying a cocktail and the company of friends.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to know anything else. I’d love to get together for a cup of coffee or cocktail and chat about wedding photography! :)
